Our daily mensch award goes to Mark Salzman: Hottie and important writer!!! His book about his years as a volunteer in juvenile hall in Los Angeles is a must read.  Some of what he writes seems too good to be true(dialogue etc but I know from foul experience that it is highly likely that these kids are that charming and talented and wasted etc.)
